Season four offers more of the same in relation to Hannah/Belle's professional life and the men she sees, however the storylines involving her questioning whether or not she should remain an escort, her relationship with Ben, and her role as temporary boss remain engaging and fresh. Additionally, Belle is in talks with turning her book into a movie, which has some very unexpected results. Things get a little out of hand with Poppy in some instances, and another call girl, Charlotte (Gemma Chan) plays a part in creating some conflict in Hannah's work and personal life. While her boss Stephanie (Cherie Lunghi) is in jail, not only is Hannah running the escort business, but she's also taking care of her boss' daughter, Poppy (Lily James) who is initially unaware of her mother's profession. First, there's the fact that her boss is in jail for money laundering. Of course, the fourth season isn't just about Hannah and Ben, as there are other things in Hannah's life that draw her attention back to her work as a call girl. ![]() The ending result may satisfy some and disappoint others, but the good news is that the series does manage to wrap itself up in the usual eight episodes. Season three ended with Hannah's friend Ben (Iddo Goldberg) telling her that he loves her, and in Season four, the series focuses on where they take their relationship, and whether Hannah will give up her life as Belle. The fourth and final season of "Secret Diary of a Call Girl" managed to pull together an entertaining and memorable eight episodes. The show focuses on her attempts to balance an unusual professional life with her personal life, and both the laughs and sadness that results. The series focuses on Hannah Baxter (Billie Piper), a seemingly average woman in London who spends her nights as a high-end call girl. The series is based upon the book, "The Intimate Adventures of a London Call Girl", which was apparently based upon the real-life stories of one "Belle de Jour". The series may be racy in its content, but it does certainly at least give a fine try at trying to delve deeper into the spiritual and emotional side of the characters. A sleek late-night comedy/drama from Showtime, "Secret Diary of a Call Girl" has been a success for the network, standing out as a success, both critically and commercially. ![]()
